Today we are celebrating with Saba from Eritrea who has just got Refugee Status after EIGHT YEARS in the asylum system.
We hosted Saba EIGHT times – from a couple of days to a whopping 250 nights.
Now she is enjoying her new status, and seeking work as a chef. But, honestly, what sort of broken system takes this length of time, disrupts a life this much, when someone has made it here from a failed, oppressive state?
We’re all hoping that Saba can build a fulfilling life, find work and a permanent home and exhale…
