LEADERSHIP UPDATE

Like many charities, Refugees at Home is navigating a challenging financial climate and changing political landscape. To ensure we remain as efficient and sustainable as possible, our Trustees have decided to bring our two Executive roles together into a single CEO position, allowing us to focus more of our resources on supporting guests and hosts.

After eight years as CEO of Refugees at Home, Lauren Scott has taken the decision to step down from her role. Lauren has made an enormous contribution to Refugees at Home, helping grow the organisation, navigate periods of extraordinary demand and support thousands of people seeking safety and a place to stay.

As she moves on to pursue new opportunities, both personally and professionally, she takes with her the heartfelt thanks and very best wishes of our Trustees and colleagues. Lauren will remain a dedicated supporter of Refugees at Home and its mission.

We are delighted that Carly Whyborn, our current COO and acting CEO, will become CEO. Carly has been with Refugees at Home for four years and has already been leading the organisation during Lauren’s maternity leave. She brings a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of our work and strong relationships across the sector.

Our Trustees are hugely grateful to Lauren for everything she has achieved and excited to work with Carly as she leads Refugees at Home into its next chapter.

Our mission remains unchanged: connecting people who need somewhere to stay with people willing to open their homes.
